At the end of the day, these businesses are about profit. The prices i-to-i charge for gap years are extortionate. And I've heard many poor reviews about them

i to i is not purely targetted at gap year students, their positioning encompasses all: all ages, experiences etc.

In my experience overall I feel that i to i failed to live up to my expectations for a number of reasons:

- my key issue I have is that none of the money I paid went directly to the project I was placed at - not my expectation. My expectation was generated via the London briefing meeting and the 'sales promotional material'.

- sense that placement of volunteers is not taken seriously enough - i.e. ok to send people without the necessary skill set, indequate briefing not tailored to the destination, and indeed if I had not brought with me materials it would have been difficult to satisfactorily deliver quality and respect.

it seems that more investment is to i to i than either the volunteer or more importantly the destination hosts. Has i to i become too corporate??

I assume that you have written to i-to-i detailing your complaints? I would be interested in their response?
