I'm living in Siem Reap, Cambodia, for awhile now and i'd like to make people aware of the situation regarding NGO's.
In Siem Reap alone there are over 200 NGO's and you can imagine not all 200 are trustworthy.
Many NGO's fail to reach their initial goals due to bad management, reliance on donors and sponsors and bad practices.
Please be vigilant when visiting Cambodia and be aware of the fact that some people start NGO's for very wrong reasons.
We hear horrible stories of child abuse and sexual exploitation or neglect. Some managers prefere to buy a nice Lexus with their sponsor and donors money. Some people even set up websites and newsletters to promote fake activities.
Be vigilant at all times!

If you want to help and you are in Siem Reap, please visit the office of ConCERT Cambodia. We will help and advise you and how to contribute.
